While I was cooking supper, he was looking out the window up into the sky. He said, "Mommy, see moon?" I said, "no bud, I don't see it." He then said as he was pointing out the window, "Mommy, it's right there.....right there.....riiiiiigggght there!"
As I was thinking how cute that was, he went in the den and turned the TV off for the 50 billionth time, and got his 50 billionth spanking for it.
We have lived in our house for 3 and 1/2 years.
This past Saturday I went and bought a bathroom mat for in front of the tub in our bathroom. Up until this point we haven't had one. Isn't that sad. It isn't because we couldn't afford a bath mat. I think it is because that is something that is just not fun to buy. The girl that sits in the office with me said if she had known that, she would have went and bought me one. I don't have any excuses though. She asked if we just stepped out onto cold tile and I have to admit yes.
I will have to figure out what I need next. Watch out world!

Friday night I went to a consignment sale, via a guest pass, thanks to my good friend Julie. I think as far as the sales go, I have finally gotten to the point where I don't find any good things anymore. They have some things for Brooks' age, and I did get a couple of items, but overall there is less and less cute things, the older he gets. I guess that is what it is going to be like at any store though. Boys clothes are just less interesting than girls clothes. (This is coming from a girl that grew up wearing dresses to school and bows in my hair.) And as far as Reese is concerned, there are lots of things in his size, but he can wear everything that used to fit Brooks. Luckily, he is hitting everything Brooks did in the correct season. Now don't get me wrong, I love consignment sales, and if you have little girls to shop for, it is a dream come true! Sometimes I am glad that I don't have to get in the mob of people looking through the girl stuff.
I don't know why I went into all that.
Saturday night I rented Pride and Prejudice, and I watched it for the first time. I LOVED IT! I never read the book and I believe that I need to go pick up a copy and start on it! It was a wonderful love story that, even though it was written over 200 years ago, all is still relevant today. Why am I typing all this? I dare say that everyone that reads this has either read the book, or watched the movie. I am just a little slow sometimes.

I have had "the crud" all weekend and it may be clearing up now. I think I caught whatever Reese had. Needless to say between he and I, there are medications lined up down the kitchen counter.
I got to go out to eat with my friends last night and really enjoyed it. We had a good time laughing and talking and just being together. We don't do it often enough.
I hope you all had a great weekend!

It seems as if all of my friends have sick children right now, or just got over some kind of illness. Does it seem like this winter has been unusually bad for sickness?
I have to share my two "funnies" that the boys have said in the last few days.
1. Sunday night after church we were talking about what we were going to eat for supper. Brooks said, "Mommy can we go somewhere to eat that has food?" My response was, "Whenever we go somewhere to eat, there is always food there." (I know that he just wanted to go somewhere OUT to eat.)
2. Today when I was dropping off Reese's prescriptions at the drive up window of the pharmacy, the boys were unusually quiet. As we pulled away Reese said "I un fy......I un fys.....Mommy, I un fys." This took me a second and then I realized he thought we were at a drive through and he was saying "I want fries."

I asked the doctor about his eyesight. If Reese is trying to look at something far away, he often turns his head to the right, and looks out of the left side of his eyes. He looked at his eyes a little and then suggested we got to a Pediatric Ophthalmologist at children’s hospital in B’ham. So we are going up there Friday afternoon for him to just check him out and see what he thinks. I am not too concerned about it. He may be just fine, and it just be his quirky little self. Otherwise, if he has to have glasses, then he will just have to have glasses. There are so many parents that have to deal with real medical issues with their children. God has blessed me with two healthy children, what more do I need!
The good thing is, when we get there it will take Reese a little while to figure out he is in a doctor’s office, and maybe that will spare our ears for a while. :)

Brooks went with Pop to the Elmore County Airport for some kind of fun day. I can't wait until he gets back to tell me what he saw. Reese is napping right now. I may head that way too in a little bit.
I went to the My Kids Attic consignment sale this morning and got Brooks a couple of things. It is always funny to me to see the enormity of the whole thing. There are soooo many people there. Most are there to shop for girls clothing, so the boys side is usually not so crowded. It just makes me laugh because they have security there as well. I guess you could have some women start fighting over clothes, but I don't see that happening. They are probably there to catch shop-lifters. Needless to say, it is an adventure.
I hope you all have a good week.

After that, my day could only get better...

Anyway, I will be out of my element in the morning. I never can make Brooks' hair lay down as well as Brent does. Maybe it is a "guy thing"!
