The doctor tried several different things and finally said he thought it was asthma related and prescribed an inhaler. It was amazing how much it helped the cough. She used it for the next few years and gradually seemed to outgrow the coughing/asthma. Might be worth asking the doctor. David was 6 when he started, and it really seems to help. We used to only do it during the change o f seasons, but now we do it year round. Just a thought... I know how frustrating it can be, the constant chronic cough. And they can't be getting the rest they need if they're coughing during nap and night time. Good luck!
