The South
Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Prayers
I just received word, that one of my friends from work's father just passed away. He had been in the hospital for a couple of weeks, and they called the family in today. Please pray that she will find the strength to make it through this and to lean on the Lord through this entire grieving process. Your prayers are appreciated.

Happy Belated Easter!
We had a rather uneventful Easter. After church we went to my mother's house for lunch. Brooks was all into the new dart gun he got from the Easter Bunny. He realized how much he liked guns while playing at Leah's house over the past few weeks. To be honest, I had never thought about getting him a toy gun. I am not one that thinks that toy guns will lead to a violent teenager etc. I had just never thought about that he might like it. (Why did I go into this side story.....Oh yeah....) So Brooks spent his afternoon playing with it, instead of hunting eggs.
Reese didn't care about hunting eggs the few times we tried it. For example, this afternoon he spent about 20 minutes throwing a plastic egg at the bathroom door, and then watching where it rolled to, over and over. They are such different children. Reese got a new book from the Easter bunny that he doesn't even want to look at. He has not even opened it up to know if he likes it or not! So here is the only close up picture I have of Reese on Easter. You got to love that face!

For Erika
This post is for my friend Erika...(all others please excuse me while we walk down memory lane)
So this is my "first grade face" that you commented on a while back. You be the judge if Brooks or Reese looks more like me.
Boy does it bring back memories. I think we were in seperate classes until we got to third grade, but I could be wrong. (I wish my arms were small like they used to be.)
GOOD TIMES!

WHY?
- Why does Reese always wake me up about 30 minutes before my alarm is supposed to go off? That leaves me with not enough time to fall back asleep.
- Why does my hairdryer cord always need un-twisting?
- Why is it still dark when I leave for work in the mornings?
- Why do people speed to work? I mean, you are just going to work-nowhere fun!
- Why are insurance companies outsourcing to India? So when you call you talk to “Kumar” who refers to himself as “Bob”
- Why do cosmetic companies constantly change their packaging so that you have to buy new compacts, etc. every so often?
- Why did I think Bobby McFerrin (singer of Don’t Worry, Be Happy) was dead? (He is not)
- Why do they play Taylor Swift songs on “rock” radio stations?
- Why is my husband smarter than me?

Reese is sick. Have I posted this before?
I feel like a broken record by even typing that title. Reese is coughing badly again, so my dear sweet mother-in-law took him to see the doctor today. Dr. T was not there today, so we saw Dr. M. (I like all of them so it wasn't a problem.) So, Dr. M said that this could be one of three things.
1. It could be RSV still. He said that there are a handful of children at their practice that just cannot get well. ...(Sigh!)
2. It could be RSV that has turned in to asthma. ...(What?!)
3. Or, it could be the early stages of allergies. ...(I give up!)
How about I choose 4, none of the above. I mean none of these sound fun. I think between asthma and allergies, I would choose asthma, because he could at least grow out of that one. I guess I am hoping that it is still just RSV, but that feels weird to be hoping that this is what it is. Anyway, we have three medications, (antibiotic, steriod, and a mild narcotic (for sleep)). So is this my life now?
We are supposed to finish the medication, and if he is not better then we are to go back to the doctor. Dr. M said that we would have to see Dr. T that time because Dr. M would only want Dr. T to diagnose him with something such as asthma etc. I wonder why that is?
I looked at our medical claims report today online, and it was just funny today that it was just Reese's name that I saw over and over. I really thing Brooks is my Superman. He has been so healthy! I guess we just haven't found his kryptonite yet, and I am thankful!
In the midst of it all, Reese still found the time to find a hat to put on. He loves hats!

I was tagged.
I was tagged by Kristin to answer some questions about myself. I love doing these!
What was I doing 10 years ago? I was in my Junior year of college. Brent and I were dating at that point and would get engaged in August. We were both at Faulkner and lived across the hall from each other in the apartments.
5 things on my to do list today? Well, I went to work. Went out to eat with some co-workers at lunch time. I went and paid my car payment, then surprised Brent with a sweet snack at his work. Then I picked up the children and went home.
Snacks I enjoy: Lets just say I enjoy any snacks. My family really likes pretzels, so we keep a large bag on hand. I love salty snacks as opposed to sweet snacks. Have you seen the new mini saltine crackers? They are wonderful.
Things I would do if I were a billionaire: I sat here and thought about this one for awhile. Besides the fact that I would pay off all of my bills, and my family’s bills, I would give some to different mission works. Even then, there would be so much left I don’t know. Probably start giving it away…
3 of my bad habits. I am a “laugh-ender” I don’t consciously do this, but it is something that I need to work on, because it probably drives everyone crazy. I will put off house work as long as I can. I butt in too often and answer questions that weren’t even directed at me. I really need to work on these!
5 places I have lived. I have literally only lived in 5 places. Parent’s house, college, shack in country, starter home and the house we live in now.
5 jobs I have had: Clerk at store in mall, holiday help at department store, day care worker and now-medical billing (been there for 8 years!) I love my job now!
So there is a little bit more about me than you may have wanted to know!

Nothing New
Here are the boys eatting supper tonight. I just thought they looked cute there. Reese usually sits in a high chair, so this was a "treat" for him. I wish I could post all the pictures I took. Brooks has the same expression in all of them, while Reese goes from smiling, to chewing, to putting his hand in Brooks' face, to this picture.
I am excited about tomorrow. Tomorrow afternoon I am getting my hair cut and high-lighted. Then, I am going to a consignment sale in Prattville. I decided to sale some things at this new sale. We shall see how it goes. I have never consigned anything, anywhere before. I am optimistic about what I might find shopping. I am even more optimistic about selling all my stuff. I want it all gone. I was a little dissappointed that this sale would not accept car seats. I had an infant carrier with 3 bases all ready to sale, but oh well. Hope you all have a good week!
