The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Check out this great store!

My friend Tamara just opened her very own ETSY store selling adorable necklaces. I absolutely love them and have showed them to the girls I work with. With baseball season about to get started, I fell in love with this necklace, that every baseball mom should have. I also love this "Hope Pendant." It could mean something deeply personal, yet different, to each person that wears it. Check out her Etsy shop by going here. banner (2)

Testing and other things.

Well, today begins SAT testing for Brooks as school. I had forgotten that you had to take those tests every two years while in school. Luckily, they had taken some practice tests to help them prepare for it.

I keep thinking that he has many more years of this ahead, and can't help but feel a little sorry for him. On the other hand, he has no idea what lies ahead for him, and that is the way it should be.

He told me all about how you have to bubble in the entire circle or it might not count. He also told me all about getting a good night's sleep before the test, and eating a good breakfast. He seems a little excited about something out of the ordinary to do.

The boys both got their report cards yesterday. Brooks got all A's. I am so proud of him again, only because I didn't think he would. I don't think I got all A's at his age. Reese did good in all of his areas of testing. (Like recognizing letters, numbers, counting, writing, etc.) It is so funny to compare the two report cards. However, Reese needs to work on his conduct. One thing in particular was not instructing other children on what he thinks they need to do. Oh my!

In other news, we are gearing up for baseball season to start. Brooks is being coached by a fellow member of church, so we are excited about that. His team name was up in the air for awhile, but has finally been settled on, "High Voltage." I think that is such a cool name for a team. Maybe we will draw lightening bolts on their faces before game time. Along with these upcoming games, is knowing that I am going to have to keep up with Reese at the ball field while these games are going on. (Sigh!) Last year we put a florescent yellow hat on him, so I could find him quickly. Now, where is that hat?

We love Spring Break!

We enjoyed the nice weather yesterday and went to our favorite playground. Brooks has actually had two birthday parties there.

Hope you all have had a wonderful Spring Break!

School Performance

Before our trip to Savannah, the K4 and K5 classes at ACA put on a little performance for the parents and friends. It was farm themed and turned out really cute.

The picture below is Reese being the cow in "The Farmer in the Dell." The nurse took the cow and the cow took the dog:)

They did such a good job. Way to go Reese!

The last of the pics.

We had a great time in Savannah. We spent a good deal of time just walking around. On Saturday we just went down to River Street, got a snack, and spent a good deal of time just watching others walk around. It was such a relaxing trip.
I snapped various pictures from all over the city. In the collage above is even a picture of Forrest Gump's bench!!!

I would recommend Savannah to everyone. (Maybe we will go back in another 12 years!)
