The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Braves

We took the boys to the Braves game this past Saturday. Reese had never been, and Brooks doesn't really remember the time he went. Reese was amazed at the huge baseball in the picture below. Both boys got to play in the toon town area and try their hand at hitting the ball. Reese did a good job hitting it!This picture makes me laugh because Reese was standing on second, and then just took off toward third, and had a stand off with the pitcher. Everyone in the crowd was laughing, while Brooks was shouting, "GO BACK, GO BACK!"Reese seemed to enjoy the game as well as I thought he would. It was extremely hot though, and the snacks didn't seem to hit the spot with it that hot. Oreos start to melt when it is hot!

Catching Up

Brooks ended his baseball season a couple of weeks ago. Although we didn't have a winning season, it was a blast. He is already looking forward to next year!

My boys!!!
He was so proud of his trophy!
Reese was happy to be running around...as usual!

Update

LaRose's surgery went extremely well. As of last night, she was in a room, doing well. Because she is doing so well, the doctors were going to go ahead and start some of the anti-rejection medicine. Please continue to keep this family in your prayers, and thank God for some already answered prayers!

Prayers!

I just found out that a kidney has been located for my friend Monica's mother, LaRose. They are on their way to Atlanta and will have the surgery at 3pm today.

Please say a prayer that everything will go perfectly this afternoon!

My small brush with someone famous....

Two years ago, ABC had a show on called Life on Mars. Brent and I really liked the show and were sad to see that it was cancelled after only one season. It was a police drama set in 1973, with some unusual aspects to it, that made it so much fun to watch. I was sad when it went off the air, but glad that the writers knew they were being cancelled far enough ahead of time, that they were able to wrap up the last show, and answer a lot of questions, that the viewers had been asking all season.

Anyway, I had been following the lead actor from that show, "Jason O'Mara," and knew that he will star in a new show this fall called Terra Nova. I just happened to look on Tuesday and saw that he had a pretty new Facebook page started. I decided to leave a comment on there and to my surprise he left me a response.

I know it isn't much in the grand scheme of things, but it certainly made my night! My sister had her picture made with Danny Glover one time, but I am pretending this is much cooler ;)
