The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

Well, the tree is up. Brooks helped me this year with actually putting the tree together until an episode of 'Little Bill' was more exciting than fluffing up branches. He had a good time looking at all the ornaments.

When Reese got up from his nap he put a few ornaments on the tree. He had more fun just looking at the tree than anything else.

Somehow, all of the icicle ornaments are at the bottom of the tree. It makes is all the more special though to know that they had fun decorating. I am glad they had such a wonderful time.

If nothing else, it has been fun to climb on the boxes!

When the boys were little, we had ornaments that you could open and place something in. I would get them to write their name on a piece of paper and save it in the ornament. It is now fun and sweet to open up their ornaments and see how they wrote their names when they were 3-5 years. We also got each a new ornament every year and I always put the year on the bottom - they now get to pick an ornament and take to their own tree. Kirk has ET sitting at the highest point on his tree "A place of honor" as he calls it. Have a great week, Emmy
