Brooks got his car moved at school today from the green light to the yellow light because he was talking during nap. I was a little peeved with him and began discussing it with him. The abbreviated version of what happened was, "Well (insert child's name here) was talking...." I stopped him right there and explained to him that when you get in trouble for talking, it is no ones fault but your own. As Julie would say, "You made a bad choice." (I heard her use that earlier in the week and knew I would have to use it too.)
It went on...It doesn't matter what other kids are doing. No one made you open your mouth and let words or sounds come flying out. This then led into discussing that Santa would be coming soon. I asked him if Santa brought presents to naughty or nice children. He said he knew that Santa brought coal to naughty children.
B: "What is coal? I know what coal is for train engines but what is coal that Santa brings?"
Me: "It is the same thing."
B: "What is it used for?"
Me: "It is used to make fire."
B: "AWESOME!"
So apparently my child will be happy with a lump of coal for Christmas.

WOW, that's really "making lemonade out of lemons"!! Bless him! Carson ALWAYS blames somebody else if he gets in trouble at school!!
That's so funny!!
Too cute!! That sounds like something my little boy would say. Thanks for the Christmas card!!
Don't you just love little boys and the way they think!! After Joey lost a tooth and got his money from the toothfairy, Joey wanted to reuse the tooth. He said, "Hey, mom I could get alot of money with this tooth!"
That made me laugh out loud!
Haha! Cute....
Sean has been using the word awsome in practically every other sentence lately. I think it is part of the new robust vocabulary they are teaching our kids in school now:) Naa, guess they are picking it up on the playground. Scary that they will soon be picking up more then that. Let's start praying now!!!:)
Your parenting skills are always top notch! I really do look at how you discipline your kids, because you do a good job!
Well that one really blew up in your face, huh?!?! LOL
