The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

The One

Since Reese first starting wiggling in my womb, I knew he would be different than Brooks. In fact, my maternal instinct told me he was a girl because it just felt so different. So much for maternal instinct.

He is my "extreme" child. He is either extremely lovable and cooperative, so much that you can't get enough snugly time with him, or he is extremely hard-headed and stubborn. There are many day to day situations where this plays out. Eating, napping, sharing, and potty training are just a few areas that we struggle with daily. Yet while we are going through the struggles, he has me wrapped around his finger.
Wow, how I will get off track of what I was writing about.

Reese doesn't like having his picture taken. You can take some good photos of him if you don't say things like, "Reese, say cheese," or "Look at mama," because if you do say that, this is what you will get:

These are just a few examples of the many pictures I have of him...just being him. They are not "bad" pictures, just not what you want when you say "Smile Reese."

Then it happened. No, it may not be the perfect picture.......but it is my perfect picture.
I'll take the bad pictures. It makes me appreciate the good pictures even more.

Gotta lotta spam? :)

I love that picture. It is the perfect one! You and I have identical children... maybe there was something in the air in Montgomery when we were pregnant!

I love that smile, but look who's leg he is wrapped around. Don't feel bad though - Sara is the same way. IF you see a smile on her face, it is because we have bribed her.:)
