The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

First Day of School

This past Monday was our first day of school. This included Reese this year! He is starting K-4 and it makes me wonder where the time has gone? He picked out a Star Wars backpack (of course) and I found him a cute Star Wars lunch box that is metal, like the kind everyone my age used to have! I probably like it more than he does.
Brooks of course, not to be outdone, had to show off his backpack and lunch box too. These were the same ones he had last year. I told him next year he can get a new backpack.
Don't they look ready?
I snapped a couple of pictures on the way to school. Of course they were playing with storm troopers.

Walking in to school.
Brooks with his teacher Mrs. H. (most of you probably know who she is)
Brooks at his new desk. Apparently it was maroon shirt day and no one told us. J/K

Here is Reese putting his things in his "locker."
And here is Reese with his teacher Mrs. H.
And so it begins. I am looking forward to a great year for both boys. I have heard wonderful things about both of their teachers.

How blessed you are to know both of their teachers so well!!! That's the toughest part of moving away - not having a history with the people around you. My brother was such good friends with Rachel in high school, and her husband lived down the street from us! So cool! Hope they had a great first day!

That really is cool that they are at ACA and having people you know for teachers! Also, I can't believe his backback made it a year and going on a second!! Peyton's are always falling apart.
