The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Just some funnies...

(I am sure Grandad will like these.)

I was going over some Bible facts to help Brooks study for his Bible test on Friday. I said, "When the Israelites were hungry in the wilderness, what did they eat? Brooks said, "manna and quail." Then I asked him what they did when they needed water. He said, "They got some water at a water fountain.

On the way home from school the other day Brooks was getting his library book out of his backpack. He read the title to me. (and I quote exactly as he said it) "Key Battles of Word War Second." I said, "First of all, that is not what it says. Second of all, Why do you have that book?" I never got an answer to that one.

Reese was "reading" his Bible on the way to church last Sunday morning. He said, "Mom, I am on Chapter 2." He began to read and mentioned "bad guys." Brooks quickly corrected him and said, "Reese, there are no bad guys in the Bible.................well..................except for the devil and the Israelites." What?
