The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

My small brush with someone famous....

Two years ago, ABC had a show on called Life on Mars. Brent and I really liked the show and were sad to see that it was cancelled after only one season. It was a police drama set in 1973, with some unusual aspects to it, that made it so much fun to watch. I was sad when it went off the air, but glad that the writers knew they were being cancelled far enough ahead of time, that they were able to wrap up the last show, and answer a lot of questions, that the viewers had been asking all season.

Anyway, I had been following the lead actor from that show, "Jason O'Mara," and knew that he will star in a new show this fall called Terra Nova. I just happened to look on Tuesday and saw that he had a pretty new Facebook page started. I decided to leave a comment on there and to my surprise he left me a response.

I know it isn't much in the grand scheme of things, but it certainly made my night! My sister had her picture made with Danny Glover one time, but I am pretending this is much cooler ;)

That is pretty cool. :) That was the year of Pushing Daisies, which was also canceled that year. I loved that show.

I think actually having my hands in Danny Glovers mouth working on his teeth was much cooler than the picture. You never let me borrow the DVDs

Don't know if you know it or not, but Life On Mars was actually a remake of a British show with the same name.

I never watched the American version but the Brit version is very good and it lasted for two seasons, I think.
