The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Preparing for your first baseball game!

Before you play your first baseball game, you must first prepare for the game.

First exercise your fingers. This will allow them to be nimble, and possibly pick up the ball quicker.
Practice your batting stance, including the fake "woosh" sound.
Practice running in slow motion, pretending the crowd is cheering for you as you run.
Stretch your ankles for all of the potential dancing around in the outfield. It is common knowledge that 5 year olds are free to dance around in the outfield during the game.
Stretch your cheek muscles by flashing that cute smile at your mother.
Practice making a crazy face while stretching your legs into the air. This is complicated because it requires two tasks at once.
Contemplate the meaning of life.
Get together with your fellow teammates and do some stretching on the field.
Show off your flexibility.
Pick your wedgie.
Listen to your coach!
Remember everything that you have been learning for the past few months, and try to hit the ball.
You did it!! Hit the ball hard and run to first. Listen to your base coach and get ready to run to second.
Make it to second. Get a little bummed when you are stranded there.
Even though your team lost, you have to remember that you had a great time, got to see a lot of your family members. It will be a fun year!
