The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Sunday, the First and Second grade classes at ACA put on a wonderful production called "Welcome to Our Neighborhood." I only teared up twice, which is pretty good for me. Here is all of the children, including "Mr. Rogers" in his red sweater. This is Queen Sarah. All of the cast members were wonderful! I have too many pictures to share them all here.
Brooks was chosen to be one of the trolley riders.

Mr. Art contacted Mr. McFeely and asked him for some autographs to give to the teachers for all of their hard work. Well, Mr. McFeely responded and asked if he could send one for all of the students too. That was the second time I teared up. How gracious of him. Here is one of the teachers showing them to the audience.

Then, Mr. Art asked the children to sing the closing song once more and asked the audience to join in. So there we all were, children and adults, singing...."It's such a good feeling to know you're alive, it's such a happy feeling, you're growing inside......"

It was such a wonderful experience for Brooks, AND ME!
