The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Eye answers.

This past Wednesday, Brent and I took Reese to the eye doctor in Birmingham. This was our fourth visit, with the first one being when he was 18 months old. The previous times we have gone, Dr. E has said that everything he could check on him was fine. This never gave us a real reason as to why he turns his head when he looks at something a little far off.

This visit gave us some answers. Reese has an astigmatism in his right eye. This is why he points his left eye more at something to view it far off. He also said, that is probably why Reese has been pushing on his right eye as well. He said when you push on your eye, it changes the shape of your cornea. (I am learning new things!) Dr. E said he could right us a prescription for glasses, or we could wait. He suggested waiting, pointing out that he would have to have them eventually, and right now his vision is fine. We agreed. Why not wait a little longer before he has to deal with glasses.

Brent got new glasses yesterday, so while we were there I tried a couple of pair on Reese. He looked so cute!
