The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Opening Day!

This past weekend Brooks had his first baseball game of the season. His team name is High Voltage, which is the coolest name ever. Things weren't looking too good for our team to start with. We were behind 5-1.

Brooks got his first taste of catching. At this age he just kind of squats back there and looks the part. :)

High Voltage made a comeback and eventually tied it up 5-5 in the last few minutes of the game. Brooks got his second hit of the game! (He is standing on second. I would say he is in the red, but apparently the league let more than one team have red jersey's which is just too much for one field to handle.)

We have some great batters on our team, and we came back at the very last possible moment and won 6-5. I can't take many more games like that. It was amazing!!! What a way to open the season!!!

(And wouldn't you know it, as were leaving, I saw another red team!!!!!)

Try playing a soccer game with similar colors. Now, that's fun! Congratulations on the win. :)
