We ordered some new bedroom furniture in February, and it was finally delivered this past Friday. I was so excited. When we first got married we used Brent's parents old furniture, and then a few years ago we got my parent's old furniture. We were blessed to be able to use them, but I was excited about finally having something new.
I waited for Brent to get home and we began to unpack the furniture. While we were moving the dresser into the bedroom, we noticed the left back side of the dresser was messed up. If you lifted up on the dresser, the left back leg would actually fall off. It was completely broken. I called the company and they said to take pictures of the damage and email it to them. I was so upset.
We then started unboxing the chest of drawers and it looked like it had been dropped at some point. It had a few cracks in the front, and the whole right side was not in line with the rest of it. At this point Brent called the company back, because I was about to lose it. They said to just check out all of the pieces and email pictures of any damage.
We continued checking out everything and it ended up that the footboard to the bed was damaged too. At this point there is packaging materials all over everywhere, half opened boxes of furniture, and no hope in sight.
I was so upset.
Did I mention we had already moved out the old furniture? So Saturday morning, we moved it all back in because we have to have somewhere to put our clothes.
So as of right now, I am waiting to hear back from the furniture company as to what we are going to do. I am hopeful that things will be made right and it won't end up costing us more money.
Now that I am 3 days past the initial shock, I realize that things like this are going to happen and
I have to just deal with it.
At least I keep telling myself that, while I look around our house filled with broken furniture and empty boxes.

Issues
My layout has issues, and I don't have the energy or time to fix it right now.
I had a disappointing issue with some furniture we had delivered yesterday, so expect a blog of me just complaining soon. Just warning you so you can skip it if you want to.

Field Trip
Brooks' class went on a field trip last week, and I was luckily able to meet him there. It was the "Let's Pretend Hospital." He told me his class voted on a mom, dad, and patient. The field trip was all about teaching them what happens if they have to go to the hospital, and to not be afraid. It was cute!

Tryouts
Well, we have entered a new chapter of our lives. This past Saturday Brooks tried out for baseball.
It was all new and exciting! They helped each player get set to try to hit two balls.
These were machine pitched balls that were coming in there a lot faster than Brooks or I expected. He didn't hit either one, but I was still proud of him.
He then rounded first and second base.
He then had to try and field two ground balls. Look at that form. His glove is completely backward from what it should be.
That is ok though. He had a blast anyway. I love seeing how excited he is about all of this.
Good job Brooks!

Finally...our snow pictures.
We had a great time playing in the snow last Friday.
It was a nice distraction from the norm.
The boys building the snowman. (It was my first snowman...ever!)

Ta Da. Apparently our snowman is dead.
Harley braving the cold.
Trying to catch a snowflake.
Reese didn't understand that concept.
Brent about to get nailed with a snowball! Good shot Brooks.
I just had to include this pic. We told Reese to go find a hat to wear outside and this is what he came back with.

Yet another one...
The other night we were eating at a Chinese restaurant and Reese (while pointing) blurts out, "Hey look at that big..."
At this point I pulled him to me (rather quickly) and did not let him finish what he was going to say, because a rather large gentleman had just walked by. He then kept trying to say the same thing, and I kept getting closer to his face trying to get him to be quiet.
He finally stopped talking and I then explained to him quietly that it is not nice to talk about people. I tried to make it where he would understand. I said that sometimes people don't like that they are big and it would hurt their feelings if we talked about the way they looked. He acted like he finally understood.
Whew!
We continue eating and Reese then comments (rather loudly) as a lady was walking by our table, "Hey, I bet she is glad that she isn't big!"
I give up.

Boys Are Not Endearing
Reese is sick, yet again. I will spare you the details, but it is the same old crud. I have made him an appointment to go to Montgomery Otolaryngology tomorrow, to see if we can get some answers on all of this sickness.
Anyway, after being at the doctor's office all yesterday afternoon, Reese missed his nap. When it was getting close to bed time last night I gave him his 4 medications. Brent and I have learned that it is better to let him stay up a little bit to digest the medicine rather than sending him right to bed. Because he wasn't feeling good, I decided to rock him. Another reason I knew he wasn't feeling good, was that he actually let me rock him.
I got all comfortable in my glider rocker that I used to rock the boys in when they were babies. Oh, how I would sing to them numerous songs off the top of my head. It was time with them that I will always treasure.
So, I start with a song......"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine......you make me happy, when skys are gray........you'll never....
Reese then interrupts me, "Mommy, what would happen if you ripped out your eyes and through them in a fire?"
Um?
?
"I don't know Reese, I guess that would hurt and you couldn't see anymore."
Was he trying to tell me that my singing made him want to rip out his eyes?
Sidenote: He did drift off to sleep and I enjoyed my moment anyway. Comment and all.
