The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

For Erika

This post is for my friend Erika...(all others please excuse me while we walk down memory lane)
So this is my "first grade face" that you commented on a while back. You be the judge if Brooks or Reese looks more like me.

Boy does it bring back memories. I think we were in seperate classes until we got to third grade, but I could be wrong. (I wish my arms were small like they used to be.)
GOOD TIMES!

What an adorable picture! I see Brooks (I hope that is the right answer...)

That is so cute! I see you in both of them. They are both so precious.

I think in this picture Brooks looks like you. But in seeing them everyday I think Reese is closer to the way you look now and then.

to me it's Brooks who looks like you. Isn't it funny how different people see different things? Most people think Ella looks a lot like me, but I have one friend who thinks she looks nothing like me. Linda says that she looks like my dad, but I think she has a certain, pensive expression that makes her look like Don.

My first reaction was that Brooks looks like you, but I've always thought he looks like Brent. But when I looked at your mouth, it is TOTALLY Reese's!! I, like you, envy the skinny arm days.

You know, I said then that Reese reminded me of that picture, but now that I look at it and the pictures from the day before, I see Brooks too. It's cray how long we have known each other! Thank you so much for your sweet comments. It does mean a lot to me. I miss you guys.

I know I've seen your mom's blog before, but now I can't find the link. Please let her know that I really appreciate her comments then and now. Remind her too of the church trip where me, you and Marie snuck into the boys room so you could borrow John's shirt and then hid in the shower. ha ha ha

I see Brooks, too. That is such a cute picture of you. Are you wearing ribbon barrettes? My grandmother made me a whole box of those, so I sported that look in elementary school and loved it!

I see Brooks in this pic of you! Or do I see your long lost sister Julie...someone else thought I was a Joyce the other day!
