The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

The Fair

We had a great time at the fair on Friday. The boys seemed to enjoy it, even though Reese was developing a cold.
This is the first year that Reese has really enjoyed riding the rides.

I even rode some too. I am surprised the ride didn't break.
We got there early enough that there weren't big lines or lots of crowds.

I had to tell the boys to stop splashing water on each other on this ride. Sigh!
They both loved the miniture ferris wheel. It was neat.
I love this picture. More than just how it looks. My dad works for the railroad, and when they used to have cabooses on all the trains, he was the guy that rode on the caboose. Looking at the picture it makes me think of him.
Watch out world. This munchkin is going to be ready to ride everything next year!
Well maybe not everything. Brooks and I went down the slide. You remember the slide don't you? You ride down the big tall thing on a potato sack. Brooks was on it with me and we went down FAST! I mean FAST! I remember us coming up off of it at the end! I think it scared him and somehow I skinned my ankle between the sack and slide. I don't even know how it happened. Brooks said he wasn't ever riding that again. I felt kind of guilty and had to explain to him that he wouldn't have gone down that fast, if I hadn't been on it with him. Try explaining that to a child.

You should post a picture of your ankle--it is impressive!

Love the pictures! I miss the fair. Going here in the 90 degree weather just isn't the same.
