The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Forgot the Conditioner

I put on Facebook on Friday that I forgot to put conditioner in my hair that morning, and wondered what the day would bring since it started off not quite right. I should have just gone back to bed.

I was later to work than usual, because I went to get my flu shot. Then after being at work for just a little bit, mom called and said that while dad was having a stress test done, he started feeling funny. He went to get checked out because he had been having some dizziness and felt like his heart was racing. They hooked him up to a monitor and he was having ventricular tachycardia. I left work to go stay with Reese so mom could go be with dad. They put dad in ICU and decided to do a heart catherization. Thankfully, there were no blockages etc. He is now just hanging out in the hospital until Monday, when they can do some kind of nuclear imaging test.

So I went and stayed with Reese. I really needed to make him a doctor's appointment because he had been coughing since last Friday. He seemed to not be getting any better. I called the doctor and the only appt. time they had was at 2:30. That was ok, but it messed things up for my sister. See, she was supposed to go have her wedding portrait pictures taken at 4 on Friday. The plan was that mom would go with her, but that didn't work out. I was going to try and go, but that didn't work out either. Luckily, her friend went with her.

All of this rambling was to say that sometimes days just don't go like you plan for them to. If there is ever another day where I forget to put conditioner in my hair, I am going to go back to bed, and ask every family member of mine to do the same.

*My dad is doing really well right now, and just waiting to have some more tests run. Please keep him in your prayers.

Hope everything is still well with your dad! I'll be praying for him. And I am still trying to imagine your sister being old enough to get married...
