The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Is it easy?

So after I commented in my last post about how Reese had been so sweet lately......he was "moved to RED" yesterday at school.

Ugh!

His note said he was not obeying. When I asked him what he was doing he said, "I was not listening, I was not obeying, and I was not being nice."

Why is it so hard for him to understand it is easy being good. I went over and over this last night with him. "Reese when Mrs. H tells you to sit down, it is EASY to follow those instructions and sit down."

"Reese, it is easy to be quiet, you just don't talk."

"Reese, it is easy to listen."

My question is....does it ever become easy raise a 4 year old?

NOPE!!! And it won't be EASY at 5 or 15 either!!! ;) At least he doesn't lack in personality!

I think it's awesome that he actually knew what he was in trouble for:) I have alot of first graders who NEVER know! They will continue to test their limits but having God in their hearts will always come through too!!

I'm with Leigh. And I think that whether it's easy or not, you and Brent are doing so good with them!!!

Aw, but how can you be mad at a face like that? Sometimes I think though they can only be good for so long and then the bad just has to come out. :)

This sounds so much like Todd at 4! He turned his face to a sad face EVERY day. If it makes you feel any better, he has only gotten in trouble 3 times since then and he is in 3rd grade. I preached the same things and it finally clicked. He is so cute, though!
