The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Happy Holidays

First let me say that I hope everyone had a great Christmas. We sure did. We spent Christmas Eve at my aunt's house with the whole family. The boys had a great time there.

The boys woke up bright and early the next morning to see what Santa had brought.

We then went to my mom's house for lunch, where we opened presents with my family.

It was great fun to get together with family and friends. I have mixed feelings once Christmas is over. I am sad to see another Christmas season come and go, but then I an glad to get the house, and hopefully the children, back to normal.

Looking toward 2008, I always make these grand plans to get my projects acomplished. I want to get my scrapbooking caught up. (that could take the whole year by itself!) I want to make some headway on this crocheted afghan I started a couple of years ago. I have a couple of other sewing projects that I want to finish as well. All of that is over shadowed by the fact that tomorrow Brent and I are going to start back on our Weight Watchers Points diet. We both need it and it worked well in 2007, we just got lazy toward the end of the year. That should be "fun"!

I hope each of you had a wonderful 2007 and God's blessings in 2008.

Looks like you all had a great Christmas. Was that John H. in one of the pictures. If so, tell him I said hello. I will also be back on the points system, too. Ugh, why is it always a battle?

That was John. I don't see him very often so it was nice to get together.

I'm with you on the weight front. Larry and I are in the process of converting the office into a weight room for that very reason!
