The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Mug Cake

Brent tried this recipe this morning (for breakfast!) and it was good. I wanted to share it with you.

5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake

4 TBSP flour
4 TBSP sugar
2 TBSP baking cocoa
1 egg
3 TBSP milk
3 TBSP oil
3 TBSP chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 coffee mug

Put dry ingredients in the mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Microwave for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed.

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto plate if desired. EAT!

***note from me...I would advise to leave the chocolate chips out because they sink to the bottom. So good!

Sounds very YUMMY! Try coating the chocolate chips in the flour mixture then mixing with wet ingredients. They (Food Network)say that helps keep the chips from sinking to the bottom.

I tried this out! It was good... except I kept thinking, "If I finish this entire cup, I will have eaten 3 Tbsp. of oil..." My weird mind...
