The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Time Away

We went to the Faulkner vs. Samford game that was located at Samford on Saturday. I had never been there before, and let me just say, the campus is gorgeous!! Brent and I enjoyed walking around and seeing all of the beautiful buildings. He said it reminded him of his days at the University of Montevallo.
As for the game, I wish it could have turned out better as Faulkner lost 62-0. In spite of that, we had a great time tailgating and hanging out with friends.

This was one of the chapels on campus.
This was another chapel on the campus.

In this next picture, I am going to just let you fellow bloggers make your own guess. In my mind I was trying to give the sign maker the benefit of the doubt and thought that maybe it stood for something, but sadly I am thinking someone just cannot spell.

Brent was just relaxing watching one of the many college football games that were on.
I hope the rest of you had a nice weekend.

On the way home tonight, on I85, there was a flashing roadwork sign that was spelled "yeild right"

That sign is too funny! Have heard Samford is beautiful- we went to Baylor, but know several people from this area that went down Alabama way!

We noticed that same sign and had the same thoughts. Beautiful campus, but same problems like any campus--spelling!

I hope that nobody was needing medical attention, because I doubt that the "nurce" knows what they're doing! Thanks for stopping by my site and leaving me an encouraging comment! It was a difficult decision (to choose to post about my virginity), but I'm glad I did it.

I had no idea that Faulkner has a football team now! Samford does have a beautiful campus... that whole part of Birmingham is gorgeous. But just a few miles away - not so nice. Glad you guys had a good time!

Gorgeous pictures! Have you gotten a new camera recently? I might be a little skeptical about visiting that nurce. I guess to be safe I would want to hold out to see the doktor.

Samford is gorgeous. And I went to Montevallo starting in '89. I am originally from Montevallo. Small world!
