The South

Where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come with gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. -unknown

Update

Izzy has cleared up the mystery of the NURCE sign. He said according to Samford's website, it is a NURsing Continuing Education program they have. A shout-out goes out to him for clearing this up.

Seems to me that they should put that in a caption beneath the incorrect spelling! I wonder if Izzy can find out why "Yeild" was spelled wrong by the DOT...

If there was something on the Internet about why the sign was misspelled, I think I could find out.

Frankly, I actually never saw that particular sign, so I can only surmise one of three things: (1) the sign was correct, and you are dyslexic; (2) the sign was incorrect, and the sign-maker was dyslexic; or (3) the sign was written incorrectly on purpose so that it would get more attention.

The real question we should be asking is why it took 7 DOT workers to create the sign, 5 to do an environmental study on where to place the sign, and 23 to actually install it...your tax dollars at work!
